Your Mother Was A
PERSON

A Work in Progress

About the Author

Louise Mitchell Palmer

I started to write stories in my early sixties. My children had left home and many of my friends had moved on to other localities. I was bone lonesome. By chance, I joined a writing class and regressed to writing about my early life in Parowan, Utah, where I had parents, two sisters and a brother and lots of friends.

Now, at 88 years old, I am lucky to still have my husband of 66 years, new friends who have encouraged me to share my stories, and an extended family of role models.

I am a committed rock hound with enough whale bone to build my own whale, enough petrified wood to build a tree, and enough rocks to cause this side of the world to tip.

I am no longer lonesome!

GIFT IDEAS FOR MOTHERS & GRANDMOTHERS:

Many readers have told me of the delight their mothers and grandmothers have expressed when they were given my book, “Your Mother Was A Person” as a gift. I’ve been asked for other gift ideas for mothers and grandmothers. (I’m not one of those who say “Enough Already! All I want is your presence.” No, I’m the mother and grandmother who absolutely LOVES receiving real gifts!) Here are some ideas for gifts that I know would tickle any mother or grandmother:

  • Cut Flowers (preferably in an arrangement, arriving in a vase). (No plants please, these always die and it’s depressing!)

  • Perfume, but only the kind you are certain she already wears. Nothing cheap, none of those knock-offs with the fake names. Better to give a small bottle of the good stuff than a bunch of powder and other lotions.

  • Gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure. Or even a full-body massage! Mothers of all ages need to be pampered!

  • A weekend in the mountains or at the shore. There is nothing more refreshing than getting away from it all
